Product description

Autoxscan SD505 PRO Smoke Generator Leak Detector

Overview

The Autoxscan SD505 PRO is a professional smoke generator (smoke leak detector) to quickly and accurately locate leaks in lines, hoses, connections, and sealed systems of a vehicle. The device is directly powered by the vehicle's 12V battery and has a built-in air pump, eliminating the need for external compressed air. Within approximately 30 seconds, the tested system is filled with smoke, and any leak becomes visible at the point where the smoke escapes.

Features

Built-in air pump: pressurizes the system slightly without a workshop compressor.
Liquid-filled manometer: the pressure change immediately indicates a leak, even before the smoke becomes visible.
Adjustable flow meter: air flow up to 6 l/min, with a control knob to adjust the amount of smoke to the system.
Fast smoke production: heating element with wick evaporates mineral oil (paraffin oil) or baby oil into dense, highly visible smoke.
Thermal protection: the device switches itself off above approximately 75 °C and can be used again after cooling down.
Hanging hook: hang the device under the hood for hands-free operation.

Applications

Intake system and vacuum leaks
Turbo and intercooler lines
Exhaust system
Cooling system
Fuel tank and EVAP system
Body integrity (wind and water leaks)
All types of lines and connections

Procedure

Turn off the vehicle's ignition.
Pour test oil into the device (10 ml for first use, then maximum 20 ml per refill).
Hang the device on the hood and disconnect the line you want to test.
Connect the power cable to the 12V battery (red to positive terminal, black to ground).
Insert the smoke hose with the conical adapter into the line and seal other openings with the rubber stoppers.
Press the air switch, read the manometer and flow meter, then turn on the smoke.
Locate where smoke escapes: that's where the leak is.
