AUTEL VAG Security Gateway License (1 year)

The AUTEL VAG Security Gateway license unlocks SFD (Schutz Fahrzeug Diagnose), the security layer introduced by the Volkswagen Group to protect vehicle owners from fraud by tracking who performed changes to the vehicle and when. SFD restricts functions such as adaptations, coding, and parameterization on VAG models built on the MQB Evo platform (e.g., VW Golf 8, Škoda Octavia IV, Seat Leon IV, Audi A3 8Y, and Q4) and the MEB platform (e.g., VW ID.3, ID.4, and Škoda Enyaq), from model year 2020.

Secured Control Units
The license grants access to control units shielded by SFD, including engine electronics, central electronics, instrument cluster, gateway electronics, and the multimedia unit.

Supported Brands
Volkswagen, Audi, Seat, Cupra, Škoda, Lamborghini, Bentley, and Bugatti. Porsche is not supported, as this manufacturer does not grant access to external diagnostic suppliers.

What Gets Unlocked
After activation, the technician can clear fault codes, perform actuator tests, do matching and basic settings, apply coding, use general special functions, and consult guided functions on vehicles that would otherwise be blocked by SFD.

Activation Process
Activation is done via the device: Diagnostics > vehicle model > control unit > secured access (login) > unlock SFD online > continue > authenticate > send. Volkswagen requires two-factor authentication via the Google Authenticator app, linked to the Autel account with a 16-digit secret key. Without this link, SFD unlocking cannot be activated.

Validity
The license is valid for 1 year with an unlimited number of logins within that period. Ensure the diagnostic device has a valid software subscription before purchasing this license; without an active subscription, the OEM authorization field will remain empty.

Compatibility
Available for the MaxiSys 906 series, MaxiSys 908 series, MaxiDAS DS800 series, MaxiDAS DS900 series, MaxiCheck MX808 series, and MaxiCheck MX900 series. Not compatible with older Android 4.0 devices such as the MaxiSys Pro, MaxiSys, MS908, and MS908 PRO.
