De Batterijmodulebalancer is ontworpen om het spanningsniveau van individuele cellen binnen een batterijmodule gelijk te houden. Tijdens gebruik kunnen kleine verschillen in spanning tussen cellen ontstaan, wat kan leiden tot ongelijkmatige belasting, verminderde capaciteit en snellere veroudering van het batterijpakket.
De balancer detecteert deze verschillen en zorgt dat de spanning van alle cellen weer in evenwicht wordt gebracht. Dit kan gebeuren via passieve ontlading of actieve herverdeling van energie tussen de cellen.
