De Batterijcellenbalancer is een essentieel onderdeel voor lithium-, LFP- of andere meer-celige batterijtoepassingen. In elk batterijpakket ontstaan na verloop van tijd kleine verschillen in spanning tussen de individuele cellen. Deze verschillen kunnen leiden tot overbelasting van bepaalde cellen, snellere slijtage of verminderde prestaties van de batterij.
De balancer meet continu de spanning van elke cel en verdeelt de lading gelijkmatig. Bij passieve balancers wordt overtollige energie afgevoerd als warmte; bij actieve balancers wordt lading herverdeeld tussen de cellen. Dit proces zorgt ervoor dat alle cellen binnen veilige grenzen blijven en optimaal samenwerken.
